The heart of Middleport Pottery! Behind the scenes look at our 1888 William Boulton Steam Engine.

– 12pm – Arrival & Presentation

A warm brew and a presentation from one of our steam engine engineers.

– 1pm – 2:30pm – A closer look

A guided walk around the heritage areas with one of our knowledgeable guides then onto our steam engine and into the nitty gritty with our engineers. A nosey in the slip house too!

– 3pm – Pie & Peas

Hearty portion of Pie and Peas, Tea & coffee and a chance to mingle and ask questions.

*We believe that this is the only William Boulton Steam Engine in existence. A fully restored example of a late Victorian, horizontal engine. It was designed for the ‘Model Pottery’, Middleport Pottery – a pioneering engineering project that was to ‘modernise’ the production of ceramics.
