Visit the historic Burleigh factory site and enjoy FREE access to our heritage trail!

Children’s activities available. On Sunday 15th and Sunday 22nd join us for object handling in our collection store.

An opportunity to explore the heritage trail at Middleport Pottery for FREE (usual charge £5.50/£4). Look inside our historic bottle oven, see our steam engine, delve into the bathhouse and enjoy the Victorian Offices. Children’s activities available from Reception (FREE – £4). This year, on Sunday 15th and Sunday 22nd, grab the opportunity to hold some of the objects fired in bottle ovens on site and examine the kiln furniture which would have held and protected ware during firing.

As a Victorian Site, the floor can be a little uneven underfoot. Sensible footwear advisable

Driving – You can reach Middleport Pottery just of the A500. Middleport Pottery has free parking available in adjacent streets to the site. Walking or cycling – Middleport is 13 mins walk or a 4 minute cycle ride from the centre of Burslem. It can be accessed from the Port Street side, or by the tow path (which is open to cyclists) opposite Middleport on the other side of the canal. The canal can be crossed less than a minute’s walk south at Pidduck Street. Public Transport – 12 mins walk from Longport Station which has direct trains to Stoke-on-Trent.
