PRT nominated for top national architecture award

PRT nominated for top national architecture award

The leading regeneration charity is one of just three organisations from across the UK that is in the running for the prize, which is issued by professional body the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and recognises the important role that a good client plays in the creation of fine architecture.

PRT was nominated by top architects firm Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios), which we hired to lead the restoration of the Pottery, the home of world-renowned Burleigh pottery.

In its nomination, Peter Clegg founding partner of FCBStudios, said of PRT: “They have succeeded in saving a nationally significant Grade II* listed ‘model’ pottery and have created scores of jobs which has kick-started regeneration in what was a seriously depressed area.

“The project is heralded as exemplar of heritage led regeneration and has won a host of Civic Trust, Europa Nostra and RIBA National awards.

“PRT, led by CEO Ros Kerslake, are to be applauded for both their commitment to delivering challenging projects which changes people’s lives and also for their recent initiative to provide small charities and community groups with the knowledge and expertise to improve their built environment (the BRICK initiative).”

PRT is up against Countryside Properties for the Abode housing scheme in Cambridge and The National Theatre for the transformation of its London building. The winner will be revealed at the RIBA Stirling Prize ceremony on Thursday 15th October.
